Happy Holidays!

Found this and wanted to share:

Twas the night before Christmas
and up on OB
A nurse yelled "Thick mec, I need a delee!"

IV's with Pitocin
Were all hung with care
In hopes they'll deliver
And stop pulling their hair

The patients were screaming
In their labor beds
While visions of epidurals
Danced in their heads

The staffing is short
With no one on call
Every warmer is dirty
And sits in the hall

Just when I thought
There's an end to this hell
A patient in triage
Has a major decel

So we rush with a gurney
And race to the back
The O.R. is dirty
Not one section pack

I dropped to my knees
And started to cry
When I heard the bells jingle
And looked toward the sky

There was St. Nick
On his sleigh in the rear
He had six smiling nurses
The day shift is here!

Have a great holiday season! See you in 2009!

a note to my readers

dear fabulous readers,
Just a quick note here. When you google "gyn pictures" and come up with my blog because of that, please do not be upset that I have failed to post pictures of the female body. And then don't leave me nasty comments about my failure to produce these pictures because I will need to delete them right away. That is all.
Yours truly,
Future OB/GYN

Last Post? You Decide...

I know I seldom update this blog. Maybe it's because I have nothing to say that's worthy, or maybe that's because no one reads this. So I've been thinking of closing it down. But I would hate to do that because I don't know if people do read this blog. I don't know what to do, so I'm asking a simple favor. I'm asking everyone who reads this blog and enjoys it to PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT to let me know there is still interest. If there is still no interest, I'll probably close it for good.

I'm also looking for new post ideas if you would like it to continue. What would you like me to talk about? I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Missing In Action

Guess who is here? I'm so sorry that I have not updated in quite some time. I blog my life at so check that out if you are interested. Anyway, I wanted to do a post today about good obstetrical TV shows. I know not everyone gets Discovery Health and TLC, so skip this post if you do not have that.

A Baby Story

Discovery Health
Deliver Me- chronicles the life of three women who are mothers and OB/GYNs. It follows their daily lives and it is awesome to see how their days go.
Birth Day- on several times a day, but it follows two women through labor and birth
Babies: Special Delivery- an hour long program on everyday that visits the high-risk wards at many different hospitals and follows six women through their deliveries and postpartum
House of Babies- a fantastic show on a freestanding birth center in Miami

I'm sure I will think of more. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if you like the blog by leaving a comment or voting in the poll. Thanks!
