Body Boot Camp

Sorry for the recent lack of posts. I have been at Body Boot Camp. It's a two week body experience filled with presentations, dissections and field trips. Today we took a field trip to Big Teaching Hospital and watched a surgery via CC TV. Perhaps I will post pictures when I get them, probably in mid-July. In the meantime, I'll probably try to keep updating more often. It's summer...what else have I got to do? Talk to you soon.

Herrin Twins

I don't know if you have heard about these fabulous little girls or not, but I wanted to dedicate a post to them today. Below I have pasted a little from their website explaining who they are.

Kendra Deene and Maliyah Mae Herrin were born February 26, 2002 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were born 8 weeks premature at 32 weeks gestation. They are former Ischiopagus / Omphalopagus Conjoined Twins, meaning that they were joined at the abdomen and the pelvis. They shared several organs, mainly a kidney, liver, and large intestine. They were successfully separated August 7, 2006. They are very healthy and happy little girls, each with her own distinct personality. They are very smart and are learning new things every day. Together they could scoot around, roll over, pull up to standing, and even do a summersault. They are best friends and have such a close bond. They are such wonderful miracles and they continue to bring joy to their family and friends everyday. We love them so much.

The family website is herrintwins.com and the family posts updates regularly. They have gone through major ups and downs, but right now they are thriving. Hopefully you will be able to click on their website and read about them, as they are truly an inspiration to everyone.
